Mitchell
R. Heppenheimer was born on March 1, 1950 in South Bend, Indiana.
He graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana in 1972
with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. Heppenheimer earned his
law degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham,
Alabama in 1976.
Heppenheimer
is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana and in the Northern
District of the United States District Court. He is a member of
the American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Indiana
Bar Foundation, St. Joseph County Bar Association and Michiana Estate
Planning Council. He has been the Deputy County Attorney for St.
Joseph County, Indiana since 1981 and has provided and continues
to provide legal representation to many County officials, Commissions
and Boards.
Heppenheimer
is active in the Indiana State Bar Association, Indiana Bar Foundation
and the St. Joseph County Bar Association. He has served the Indiana
State Bar Association as its State Treasurer, on its Board of Directors,
membership committee, chairman of the Unauthorized Practice of Law
Committee, and chairman of it's BARPAC committee. He is a Fellow
of the Indiana Bar Foundation and previously served on its Board
of Directors. He has also served the St. Joseph County Bar Association
as its president, Continuing Legal Education chairman, on its Board
of Directors and is currently its treasurer.

 James
F. Korpal
James
F. Korpal was born in South Bend, Indiana on December 22, 1952 and
graduated from Purdue University in 1975. He earned his Doctor of
Jurisprudence degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University,
in 1978.
Mr.
Korpal served as deputy prosecutor in St. Joseph County from 1980
to 1985. He has served as a public defender in St. Joseph County
and, since 1988, has been the Chief Public Defender. Mr. Korpal
has been a partner in the firm of Heppenheimer & Korpal since
1986.
He
is admitted to practice in both the Northern and Southern District
of Indiana, the Western District of Michigan and United States Court
of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Korpal has tried many high
profile cases during his career, including three death penalty defenses.
Mr.
Korpal is also President of the St. Joseph County Election Board
and has held that position since 1995. He is a member of the St.
Joseph County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association
and a member of the St. Joseph County Community Corrections Board.
