About the Firm

Founded by Harry Heppenheimer in 1952, the firm of Heppenheimer & Korpal has served the legal needs of South Bend — Mishawaka, Indiana and the surrounding areas for over fifty years. Partners since 1986, Mitchell R. Heppenheimer and James F. Korpal have demonstrated a strong commitment to high quality legal representation and have acquired a well known reputation for vigorous, aggressive and competent legal services. Primarily a firm in general practice, Heppenheimer & Korpal represent a variety of clients concentrating in business and corporate matters, civil litigation, criminal defense, alcoholic beverage practice, probate/estate planning and family law.

All clients of the firm meet and work with attorneys on a regular basis and there are no paralegals or secretaries who are involved in the attorney-client relationship regarding the legal matters of the client.

The firm's office is located seven blocks from the St. Joseph County Court house and is in the West Washington Avenue Historical District, South Bend, Indiana.
